About RTW Veteran Center

We began our mission in the fall of 2010 when we moved into a three unit building in the Washington park neighborhood in Chicago across the street from the park on King drive.

+ History

We began this journey in February of 2011 when we discovered there were people living at our door steps who were physically hungry and struggled with the basic needs of humanity. That we were living in one of the most violent neighborhoods in the greatest country on earth, and that all around us was not the American Dream that we had fought for but an American nightmare that has become the reality in many of our urban cities.

+ Our Vision

RTW Veteran Center’s vision is to Remake the World (RTW) into a paradise, beginning with the community we are in and then spreading to other communities and neighborhoods.

+ Mission Statement

RTW Veteran Center’s mission is to connect and rally dedicated veterans and others in our community to provide basic services and support to the hungry, homeless, and veteran populations in the South Side of Chicago.
